Steering arm problems

Any one else have problems wiht breaking the studs that bolt the arms to the knuckles? I have busted several and have been stuck in the middle of a run. I am running 35 X 15.50s, but also broke them running 33 X 12.50s. I am not using a stabalizer shock, will that help? I would like to run full hydro but fear that added force would bust the studs more often. Any suggestions?

I run 36's and wheel pretty hard and never broke one. I know people with larger tires that have. I stabilizer isn't going to help. If it happens that often you might look into the beefy 5 and 6 bolt designs the aftermarket has.

Are you torquing them to the proper value, cone washers in place and using correct grade replacement studs? I wheel mine pretty hard with my 35s aired down to 8-10 psi and a front e-locker and have never had an issue. Maybe you need these: http://frontrangeoffroadfab.com/nfos...408f936886f861 ---------Hans

I just realised I have had the nuts on the arms loosen from wheeling, I suppose breakage could have been next if I hadn't checked them. After it happened several times I put some split type lockwashers on, and haven't had a problem since.
