Cheap Gap Guards
Anyone ever done a body lift or had a body lift done for all you non diy's. Well anyways there is a space that you can see right through to your engine (you know the important stuf). Go down to a tile store and buy a sheet of lath or whatever its called. Its sortof a cheep chicken wire but more metal. Just bend it in the shape you want it then smack some bondo in there to make a nice shelter for your wheels. Then spray paint it or somthing to make it look good. Cheap n easy idea.

Seems to me the bondo would weaken and start fallin apart after a while of wheelin' and trail impacts.
Happen yet? I went the cheap route but not as cheap as you. (Can't believe your a cheaper ass than me!) I used a sheet of EPDM that I got at a local gasket shop. Total cost for the rubber shets (2 of em 18"x36") and new plastic tabs for fastening was under $20. Due to the heat of the engine, the rubber gets brittle and start to crack. Takes about 3-4 years so if you go this route, keep your patterns cause you'll be doin' it again in a few years. (unless you splurge and spend some $$$ for Viton sheets.

I did mine with a roll of used conveyor belting was cloth and rubber was kind of scuffed up but looked really good and they were just going to throw it away.
Know of any belting companies in your area they have high temp stuff too :D call em up tell em what your doing and see if they have any scraps you could have to try out a design for a new product and hey if they cut you a good enough deal on some bulk make em and sell em
