What you need, One Safari Snorkel Head, Two 45 Degree angle PVC Adapters, 1 90 Degree PVC Adapter, One 6ft length of pipe, Grinder, Sawsall, Welder, Steel, Caulking

Here is what I have put together so Far for my Custom Snorkel Installation
More pics to follow as they come

First off you need to buy the Safari Snorkel Head, You can buy JUST the head for $80 Canadian.

After you take off your Fender, you will notice there is already a hole in the Frame, all you need to do is enlarge it a bit to fit both a 2" PVC Pipe and the Wire loom threw.

Cut a hole in the air box and fit the Pipe into the box

Next mock the pipe up where you would like it, You will need to cut the outter part of the fender and weld a plate in. for strength.

Here is How I bent the PVC Pipe. I heated up the plastic with a tourch, (Just keep turning the pipe, and bent it over an old rim.

Okay and here's the finished product.

I still need to bend the top a Tiny bit more. But Im fairly happy with it.

I Used a piece of interiour trim to cover the hole in the fender.

Ca n'est pas mal... any more/less mileage/power?

Ca naa pass what huh ? :help:

Umm Just because Im from Canada DOESN'T Mean I speak french, Or want to even.

Actually Im getting better power (I tiny bit) But Much better MPG, and a better idle, and smoother acceleration.

I used to have one of those K&N Cone filters on before this, And I think the cone filter sucks in WAY to much hot air in from the Engine bay. I tossed the Cone Filter in the garbage.

"It's not bad"

It is mainly the freeway where you notice the most gains? I could see it providing a ram-air effect when you're moving, but stopped, it seems like there would be more vacuum since the 22RE is already sucking air through a 2 foot long pipe. I don't know if there would be any further gain from doing this on the passengers side (relocationg the battery and airbox)? If you did this, there would be about 2 feet less pipe for it to go through, along with a (slightly) less-cluttered engine compartment. I like the idea

BUT............ you should have used 3 inch DRAINAGE pvc pipe its thin wall and flows more air than the pipe you used.

all you have done is restrict the air flow with the 2 inch
and 3 inch is way too big and heavy.

drainage pipe is hard to find most of the time you can find it in a irrigation warehouse.
I have had a few trucks over the years and yes I have made all my own snorkles
and you loose power with that set up TRUST ME
a motor NEEDS fraeh air and lots of it

Ill see if i can take some of my picks of mine

and hey im not bashin it
been there done that is all im sayin
