I just took apart my front axle and noticed a crack in my Birfield. What are some good options for replacements?

30 spline chromos the only way to go

that is not entirely true. in somn cases your better going with the 27spline as you dont need the 30 spline and you wont be busting hubs, r&p, etc. but regardless www.longfieldsuperaxles.com is the only way to go

www.longfieldsuperaxles.com is the way to go for sure.

Agreed. Not everyone needs 30 spline birfs.

For one thing they require new inners also.
27 spline Birfs can be used with stock inners.

Not everyone abuses their truck offroad.

But if they do decide to abuse it or winter comes and its being abused, that will be the last thing to break IF it breaks

But i run the older ones with the ring welded around and stock inners and i aint broke a inner yet and i beat my chit hard

if you just need something stronger than stock, but don't need a long field try NAPA. there birfs are bigger than stock, but not as strong as the longs. o ya, they only cost me $95.oo each.

IMHO I would rather bust a Hub then a shaft......R&P I sent to Bobby and he did his magic on them for me....so far so good. It also depends on tire size, what kind of wheeling you do how much you go out and so on. Like you all have said the Longs are the way to go. I had my first set of the weld on ring for almost 3 years, I broke two inner shafts before the Birf gave up. You can also send your Stock shafts to Bobby and he will do his heat/freezing treatment on them for you. Then if you got the 27 spline 4340's for $205 each you would have a killer set up. For another $110 over the napa one you would be in much better shape.

P.s. Is this the Same Goldfinger that was in Colo Sprgs? IF so How is going?

I found this on Bobbys site.

I think its better to go with the 30 spline inner instead of the 27 spline chromoly inner. Because you will do more damage when you brake a 27 spline inner a lot of people and myself the shock load is so bad it kills your locker and some times takes the teeth off the ring gear.

Yep this is the same GOLDFINGER formerly from the Springs. I miss you guys. :bluecryin I still haven't hooked up with any groups over here yet.
I'm trying to get my runner up to par so maybe I can hit some trails with you guys when I get back to the Springs.
Maybe I also need to grow some bigger testicles (can I say that?) before I hit Indy at Penrose.
