I was wondering? I heard I can use rear leafsprings for a cheap front lift, but what years can I use on my '82. I plan on purchasing 32x10.50x15 tires, will they fit with stock suspension?
if u want to clear that size tire do a 2 inch body lift and keep your suspension stock.
any year toy rear springs would work but youll need a welder and some fab skills
body lift = cheap and nice to gain clearance

personally, i avoid body lifts at all costs, but that's up to you... i have an 83, fully stock suspension and i clear 32s fine, i get a little bit of rub if i'm cranked to the right or left, but that is a rare occurence... i went to moab with this configuration in 2004, did some hairy trails and never stuffed enough to get any inner wheel well rub... if you're really concerned, a little bit of body lift might not be bad, but like i said, i avoid those at all costs... i'd rather save toward a good suspension lift personally
y dont you like body lifts ?
i have a 3 inch with 9 inch supsension and it gives me so much clearance and tranny and motor clearance.
i love body lifts. just get a 1 inch so you have plenty of clearance for 32's
and dont buy suspension unless you plan on running a lot bigger tires.

I would just put them on and then if they hit get out the hammer and sawzall until they fit. If you plan to go bigger then look at getting some lift.

Here's all the info you need: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=265669 If you go this route, you're going to need crossover steering.........Hans

i just haven't had good experiences with anything i've ridden in or driven that had too much body lift, so i've kinda sworn them off altogether, i guess it has a lot to do with my trucks always being daily drivers... i just don't the changes to the handling characteristics... they just don't feel as stable to me at cruising speed
