can someone explain to me why the signature area has recently been castrated down to a limit of 200 characters? is this to make the forum operate better?

i went in to update my signature (which was originally much larger than the 200 limit), and it wouldn't take my mods because of the original length. i just backed out of the edit area without saving, and it appears to still be the original, despite the new length rule

The change was made because certain signatures were WAY TOO big and long and become a pain to scroll thru. A signature should be short and sweet and to the point, not a life story!

Thanks for the reply, head dude! Guess I was one of the "way too big" offenders, but I'm proud of my garage(s) full of Toys, and want to list them all. i know - show off!

anyway, guess i'll leave it alone for now. btw, i've found on other forums that a 400 character limit is a decent compromise between conciseness and chest beating

think about it.....
