Locking Hubs

Ok... new to the whole 4x4 thing. Finally went offroading on memorial day with my truck. Had a good time playing on the trails and in the mud, but at one point and time I high centered. While sitting on my axle housings, I noticed that my front tire wasnt spinning. Then sometimes it was. I thought that when I turned the hubs to lock that they are "locked" so they both will spin at the same time. So am I wrong, or do I have a bad hub?

Yea what he said... It dosnt "Lock" when u turn it to lock it more engages your frotn end. if you want it to be LOCKED get a locker, you can get lockrights for around 250 bucks and they work awesome and both tires will spin.
