So what I've heard is that swapping an old 20r head onto a 22r motor will free a few ponies due to the way the incoming fresh air goes into the head, or something like that. But from what I've read in other posts, my question is, would the swap be possible since I have an 85? I have a shorter block, or visa versa one of the two, compared to the earlier 22r's. And is it even a swap worth doing if possible?

nope, you need an 84 or earlier 22R block to fit a 22R head on it.

also, the 22R-20R hybrid has a higher compression, which can result in some preignition.

best of luck.

Thank you much Generz, that's all I need to know!
