the truck flipped on its lid for about half an hour and now it won't quit smoking. i think it might be steam but i'm not sure. i had a friend tow it back home and it has sat for about 4 days so i know all the oil that might have seeped past the rings has gone back down. i start it up and it runs fine for about a minute then it starts shootin out thick white smoke. btw.. this is a brand new engine. any ideas? thanks alot

Blue smoke indicates burning oil.
Black smoke indicates rich fuel mixture.
White smoke indicates two possibilities. 1) Transmission fluid (unlikely in your case). 2) Anti freeze/coolant
if you flip a truck u never start it up without pulling the plugs and cranking it over for a few seconds...
that blows out anything in there man....
and most likely you will need new spark plugs.

You probally have oil build up in your exhaust from a valve being open while it is was a turtle on its back or a blonde which every you prefer. take the cat joint loose to check and see if that is what it is. Run it a least till you get it warmed up to burn it out. try not to run it with the cat in if you can they do oil foul.

i guess oil buildup in the exaust makes sense b/c it has to heat up before it starts smoking. i'll pull the cat and see if there's any oil in there. thanks
