This probably is a stupid question but I've been trying to find some cheap tricks for my 83 pickup. With a High School cash flow i dont have to much money to work with. My question is that i've read about people welding their front axle and i was wondering how do you do this? Does it give you more traction like a locking diff? I just want to know if this is possible on the front while still maintaining driveabilty. Any comments or any other cheap tricks will be greatly appreciated

it does improve traction but makes your turning radius SHIQ. If your going to weld your DIFFERENTIAL weld the rear. It will eat Tires but your Turning radius wont suffer as much. It is better to go with a cheap locker like a lockright or aussie locker in the front. Good luck.
