Wanting to run 39.5s under my 84 4runner. looking to do longfields in my current axle, or get a Land Cruiser Front. Will the stock axle hold up?

Thats a good question, What kind of wheeling are you planing on doing?, I know people who run 37's on the FZJ80 and havent had any problems. I think you will be fine a 93-97 Landcruiser weigh's in at about 5,700 Lbs and I would imagine your 4runner is much lighter...What Im trying to say is, As long as the LC from it is great shape you should be fine, Not to mention you will have a high pinion and the poss. of a front locker you could wire up to work.
IIRC the 80 series axles are stonger that previous, But that could be in who you ask?!?
Uprated inner's are a great way to go too, I have no idea what would be cheaper.
Good luck

The FJ/FZJ-80 Axles are equivelant to a Ford 9" Ring and Pinion with Dana 60 outers. Pretty much anything you throw at it under 40" it will hold together strong. I imagine your 4Runner will fall apart before those axles do.
