85 4x4 22re w/recent rebuild, motor is not in truck. the frame is alittle shakey
front end,rearend+tranny seem to be inorder . this is my first rebuild and my neighbor seems to think i should start with something running since iamnot a
very experienced mechanic. i am open to suggestions. not sure where to start

i think you should build what you got. none of us learned how to build our trucks without getting our hands dirty. you might f@#k it up a few times, but in the end you'll know your truck a lot better, and you'll appreciate it a lot more.

True to that Yoda. You gotta start somewhere, and having just worked on cars for the past 4 years, I never thought I would know as much as I do now. Build it man!!! You can do it!!! Where u located in Ohio by the way?

i am 20 minutes south of columbus near deercreek state park
thanks for the advice
what is the best way to check the frame. one cross member needs replaced
not sure how bad the rest of it is

Well, look for holes and breaks in it. I'm sure someone else can chime in with a true way to check it.

When it comes to the rebuild question. We all started somewhere. I"m 19 now, my first rebuild was at 15 on a GMC Sierra 1500 with my pops. We replaced the engine and made it purr like a kitten. Thats something I won't ever forget getting my shirt and hands dirty with grease inside the engine bay. Go for it man, its a tonne of fun. :Rockonman
