View Full Version : Extended E-Brake Cable
I just lifted the rear of my truck, and the E-brake Cable looks like its about to snap its so tight, and my e-brakes is not working so well. How have you guys got around this problem, but kept your stock ebrake?

I just removed a mounting screw and it gave me enough length
OR are you takling about where it goes over the axle?
It is getting hung up on the gas tank. Maybe if I unbolt it from the frame after the tourque multiplier. Is that what you meant?

Mine is tight, but works well. What I am planning on doing is this. I got the rear cable from an extended cab truck. It is longer than the stock 4Runner cable. It's been sitting in my garage for the past few months along with my IFS rear axle. I planned on putting them both in at the same time. I'm hoping it'll work. Just an idea...

Yup..............
I was also thinking that the "arms" were getting hung up where they cross over the leaf springs..... theres some extendo brackets you can make to fix that problem
Well, thats a problem too, but that was one i knew how to fix. Thanks for all the help you guys, the people here are the best.

if it is the same as my 82 I just flipped the bracket that mounts to the axle around. Pointed towards the front, but I also unbolted it from the frame.
