i have some 3.5 inch lift springs in the rear and fronts that have sagged to 2" or less of lift. i need to put some new shakles in the rear, about 1.5-2 inches taller thatn stock. so what i need to know is how tall of front springs should I look for to make it ride level? price is a concern. cheaper the better. also will a drop drag link work with the height of the lift or do i need hy-steer? thanx.

You might try useing two sets of rear leaf springs, taking them apart, get rid of the overload leaf's, and play with adding and taking away leaf's until you get it right. Maybe cut the eyes off of one set, to give you an extra two leaves to play with, then if it's not enough either use a longer shackle in the front, or drop your front spring mount. Just an idea, that should be cheap, and easily tuneable. Also don't even mess with that drag link. I wasted a year and way too much money trying to make that drag link setup work, and believe me it was a waste. I tried everything possible, and it always sucked. If you don't have the money for hy-steer, just do the flipped and double welded passenger side steering arm, to get you by until you have the money for hy-steer. there is a write up on here somewhere on how to do it. I did mine like that at first, and it worked great, in fact I still keep the whole setup behind my seat, just in case something breaks. Hope this gives you some idea's to get you started.

i would buy springs from marlin for the front and get a drop hanger. but it depends on how tall u want to go.
i would do the front. then make shackles in the rear to level it out. i wouldnt try to make the front match the rear more of do the front and then use the rear (since its easy to work with) to match the front.

when using rear springs up front does it move yer axle forward like the all pro's? could i just do springs and not the steering at the same time, or is it a all or nothing kind of thing? i have some rears right now but they have a few busted leafs in them. how many do i need from the second pack? thanx again.
i use rears up front and i have the 3 main leafs from a 91 extra cab.
then i have the 3 main leafs from a 85 toy rear with the eyes holes cut off.
then i have one leaf from a 97 taco rear.
a total of 7 leafs in my pack.
and if u move ur axle forward u have to do crossover if not hysteer so you will need a ifs steering box.
