Trust me I know exactly the problem ive had it happen on my chevys a million times. When its hot the solenoid heats up and theres copper wires so they expand in heat so it doesnt start. If this happends to you again you can have someone tap the starter with like a hammer and have someone to turn the key and it will make it go in gear and start. You might try a heat wrap that goes around the starter. The problem is the headers and everything just heat them up.
