OK lastnight i broke my fuel pump and the haft broke off inside the motor. i cant see where it went? then i put a new one on and a 3" body lift. when i started up the truck it ran like sh*it. It just runs really rough and will hardly idle. Any ideas what could be goin on? all vacume lines seem to be conected and spark plugs and coil wires seem to be ok ?

damn lol better hope it didn't fall down into the timing chain cover. that would suck. pull the valve cover before you start it again or it could eat up you're timing chain. the valve cover comes off really easily. you should be able to see it if you pull the valve cover. good luck

if you pulled the valve cover and didn't see it and the engine runs then it should be in the oil pan. i'm sure that would have killed the timing chain if it got caught in there with the engine running. i don't see how it could fall all the way through through b/c of the chain tensioner unless it was a small peice. if you are worried about it just pull the pan and see if it's there.

Yea it was in the oil pan, it looked fine too it didnt look like the timing chain hit it at all.

BUT NOW IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING I DONT KNOW WHAT THE FK IS GOIN ON, ITS A BRAND NEW PUMP AND FILTER :Help:

sounds like you might have jumped a tooth take the valve cover off see if your valve timing is right verses the distributer and the crank. I haven't ever seen a fuel pump break like that also check make sure you don't have a blocked line to the carb.

is it possible that the filter you put on is directional and you put it on backwards lol? hell i don't know just throwin **************** out there

Its getting plenty of fuel. we put a fuel regulator on it bc the new pump was pushin out 19 ps. the lines into the carb are fine.

check and recheck all the vacuum lines. is the air filter box on? if not there's 1 big vacuum line from the air filter to the intake manifold and if that isn't connected up you're engine won't idle. check timing. maybe pull valve cover and have sum1 turn over the engine while you look at the timing chain for any nicks. that wouldn't cause it i don't think but it can't hurt lol.. that's about all that i can think of. not sure what else to tell you but good luck lol
