Paint Prep

So, I just finished welding up my sliders, and I was wondering what i needed to do before I paint them. Do I need to grind all the surfaces, sandblast them, wire brush them, or can I just wipe them down and paint. I have never done this, and just need some tips. Thanks for your help.

if u want it to look good grind down the welds and sandblast it prime and paint so basically do the first three then wipe it just liek u prep for paint sand smoothe wipe it off primer, ruff it up, and paint it thats just my 2 cents i liek clean good lookin stuff but there u go man

they are just sliders they are goin to get hammered. i wipe my metal stuff down with chemtol or carb cleaner the paint. i do however suggest "hammer" it ears really well and looks good

You can also take a torch and burn the oil coating off too. Just don't hold the trigger down and start cutting.
