what Cruiser? fj40, 45, 55, 60, 80, or 100? I'm sure that it has been done in a FJ40 FJ45 and FJ62 but don't know about the rest. But any thing is possible

I don't think that it would be much diffrent then putting in a SBC but if you look around the web I'm sure you can find a lot of useful info. Just do a search, here is one to get you started.

My guess is it will fit no problem. There may be some issues with the steering shaft, and the headers would probably have to be on the outside of the frame.
I had some headers that were on the outside of the frame on my 40 with a small block 350, and I hated it. I had dual exhuast running out before the rear tires, and although it looked good, it broke every time I went out. I had to continually re-weld the exhaust until it couldn't be welded any more. I now have stock exhaust manifolds, and a 3" single exhaust that is tucked out of harms way.
I would not run the stock tranny or case if I was going to put in a big block. The cost gets too high, especially when you could just pull the motor, tranny, and case from a GM vehicle, and be good to go. Just my 2 cents...

Yup...Ive seen enough, It will fit, But like was mentioned steering is an issue, Another big problem is over heating, You will most certainly need a different tranny.
Good luck
