so i was working on my buddie's truck (22RE) and after changing the head gasket we realized that one of the timing chain guides was broken, so we proceeded to change them.
when we put the timing chain cover back on it tore the part of the head gasket that covers the timing chain clear off. we tried using a bead of sealent but that didn't work out for us. anywho, when we started the engine up water flew out where the gasket used to be and all over our faces. literally. it was like a slap in the face. !@#$%^&! and the truck showed all the other normal symptoms of a blown head gasket.
so my question, where does water flow right there? how did this blow the seal with the rest of the engine?
