i bought all pros extreme lift kit about 2 weeks ago, the other day i got board so i was reading the instructions and while i was reading about the hysteer i noticed all it said was to replaced the steering box with one from a 86-95 pickup/4runner and then reconect the hoses. sounds dandy but i have manual steering so i dont have anything that is needed. Can some one help me by telling me what to buy, where to get it, how much it will cost, and how to hook all this stuff up so i can get my trucked lifted finally. Ive been saving and planing my truck for 2 years and some how i didnt ever think of this.

I know i cant spell so no one say anything about it please.

Thanks.

nevermind, i just looked at your sn and noticed. you will definately need a steering box from 86-95. since you dont have power steering and are lifting it that much, i would go ahead and spend the money to get the box, pump, and all the neccissary hoses and what not. if you need more help, i have a friend whos a toyota guenius and can tell you anything and everything.

u could do hydro assist steering with a non powering steering box i think.

i had a 91 toyota that DID NOT have power steering. u just need to find one without it and get it tapped and drilled for hydro assist but i think hydro assist works of ur power steering pump.

to make power steering in ur rig u need a few things from a junk yard

1. power steering box.

2 feed hose and return hose.

3. pump.

4. longer belt to go around the pump.

5. pump resevoir.

if it were me id find a wrecked truck off of this site ( there was on in here that was wrecked one was a 91 truck the other a 90's 4runner)

and call those guys and ask them if u can buy all the powersteering items u need.

one thing im not sure on is the vaccum assist from the brakes i think is connected to the pump some how.

i would take ur truck to another truck with ps and take pics of both and reference all of it. make urs with tape and label it and then mark the ps truck or runner and label all the ps items to see what he has and what u dont.

here is one for sale.
