i can't remove my two back brake drums because their rusted need assistance!!! :Help: :Help: its on a 85 4runner sr5

BIG HAMMER. Beat the Heck outta it.

Sorry thats the only thing thats every worked for me. you can try heating it up this a torch aswell

No not really. Just beat on the drum, and than turn it. beat on it some more, turn it. You get the IDEA

ive try beating it and rotating but it still wont give, i will try heating it. :cuss: thanks

use a screw driver to push the drum out. hammer on the outer edge, let the brake fluid out, release the parking brake! :fart:

not sure about the 85 but my 88 when it had drums there were 2 holes that you could thread a bolt into pull the drum off, yours may have the samething

its all right, i just put them off, it just toke heating it, useing luquid wrench, and banging on it thanks ya'll, the redneck from Guyton, GA. Nick Jowers, one of the youngest people on the board, only 16 :cool: :Rockonman

If you used liquid wrench, be sure to use plenty of brake cleaner afterwards, or the work on your brakes will all be worthless.

I have found it works great to use the threaded holes as stated above. You just get the thing started, and twist, twist, twist...they come off everytime.

note taken i will clean those suckers and the pads are worn need replaceing also which one is stronger and better but not including the replacing of pads disc brake or drum brake and if disc is better (which probably is) how easy is it to convert?
