OK I am sure this has been asked and answered before and if someone could just point me in the right direction of a thread or tech article I would appreciate it!

but I am looking to convert my 88Runner with 22re and put a turbo on there using turbo parts from a loaner. (not an LCE or anything expensive like that)

But if I find a loaner what all parts will I need to pilfer? Exhaust manifold, turbo, pipes? pulleys? electronics? will the same ECU work or does that need new?

so far I have a new instrument cluster with a light for turbo!

what else should I need?

thanks

well, you will need both the manifolds (exhaust and intake), all the plumbing for the turbo (oil lines etc.), the turbo computer, bigger injectors (probably), probably a higher pressure fuel pump, and probably a bunch of other stuff i dont know about having never done this. when you get the computer you might want to be sure that your donor had the same type of tranny (manual vs auto) that you will be using. im nor positive, but the computer might get confused if it thinks its supposed to be recieving signals from an ECT auto tranny and its not. sorry i couldnt be more help, but good luck!

I am converting a non-turbo supra to turbo and I am planning to use
-a turbo short block (for lower compression)
-a turbo manifold
-a turbo
-a manual boost controller
-different injectors
-an intercooler
-an AFC
-an oil return line
-a down pipe from turbo to exhaust
-boost gauge

total cost should be about a grand (or 1500 at most) including I will need to make some exhaust, intercooler pipes, head gasket and have the block already and can use the old head.
