My grill and the headlight trim is all held on by zip ties. I even zip tied my fuel pump to the frame. It beat the heck out of drilling holes and zip ties are plenty strong enough for a tiny little fuel pump.

5inch allpro springs, shackles, 3inch body lift....all in all its a great set up for what i do im wishing more flex right now.... i have about about 500 into the lift kits all combined... just look around and you will find them and learning to fabricate helps alot and saves you big big money. with my current lift im running 38x15.50x15 gumbos the only problem i am having is my rear axel is not wide enough and i think my backspacing on my rims are a little bit off, there for i rub the frame at full stuff, right now im looking into a 87 axel... im runnin 5:71's and they do great its a perfect match i can cruise at around 70 on the free way no prob with my foot not even in it. im in the process of painting it blue and black camoflouge im wondering if anyone has anypics of that. im also debating bobing the rear of my bed...the front is bobbed 9 inches so id have a shorty truck. im also curious is anyone has some flares for sale? im in desprate need i DONT want the bushwacker cut outs...but if any one has the body line bushwackers im very interested. haha laters guys keep it real and the tires spinnin

Yup, I cut it off as one piece on jan 14th or somthing like that, cause I found someone who was going to buy it, well, someone came the next night I had it sitting there, set it on their 4runner and drove off.
My friend at least said it was a 4runner...

Last I heard Pokie was working for Mike at Bend and Twisted. This was awhile ago. I would call Mike and check with him. Pokie actually did the work Scott was more or less over seeing the project because he was always out on service calls. I'm saying anything bad here I just know Pokie did most of the work although I think the design was mostly Scott's.
I used to live in Paradise before moving to Bozeman.
Hope that helps.

After quite a bit of work rebuilt front axle, FJ40 rotors, v6 IFS calipers, regeared to 5.29's, aussie locker in front, lockright in rear, 35x12.50 BFG's MT"s, budbuilt crossmember etc, etc...

After the bed was removed I cleaned and painted the back portion of the frame.

It's running but the weber 32/36 is quite sluggish.
I don't think there is enough power even with 5.29's it's a dog.
I am debating wether to goto a EFI 22re motor or do a supra 5mge motor swap on it.
Still have alot more to do to it like the flatbed, new shocks, chevy spring swap it goes on and on...

05-06-2005, 09:37 AM
TTRCrawler, that'll be cool. Your truck looks like it has crazy travel up front. I like it. Sounds like we have the same vision for our trucks. Email me at n8james@hotmail.com if you want to exchange Ideas. Ive got a ton of Ideas I'm toying with and would love to get some input. I'm gonna finnish this truck first, but my next one is going to be built from scratch, with my own body design. I've been plannng on fabing in rear doors too for quite a while now, I just havent got around to it yet. I started building my truck back in 2001 with the 4door idea in mind but have not been able to get motivated to do it yet. I've got too many other loose ends to tie up first. I started off ambitious and then got side tracked for a couple years and didn't get much done on it for a while. Now I'm determined to finnish it. How are you planning on doing your rear doors? I've toyed with a number of Ideas in using 4runner rear doors but have decided to make my own out of fiberglass with lexan power windows for light weight. Eventually, my whole truckbody will be fiberglass, with an internal rollcage and will weigh around 3000 lbs or less I hope. I got all my front end parts off ebay for cheap. $200 for all the lights and Grille. I got the hood from NPS in S.L.C. for $80 , slightly damaged. (Glassworks supercharger hood). Are you doing the 2004 tacoma style on yours ?
no taco style for me.
and yes i would use a rear door section from a 2nd gen 4runner and then splice it in and then bob my bed in the front and int he rear to get the wheel well in the right spot.
its a long project as i am not good at body work. but eventually thats is my goal.
also to go 2 inches bigger and fit 40's on my truck.

Here is my FJ40. I've had it for about a year now. Put a 4" skyjacker susp. lift on it, 33" pro comp mud terrains, K&N airfilter, Alpine Stero and speakers, Rebuilt front and rear axles, and just recently did oil pan, valve cover, and intake/exhaust manifold gaskets. i put down a carpet liner in the rear. and now i'm pretty sure that i'm gonna be selling her.
