The moosetang guys at corral have been ordering these things like crazy with huge success. The ease of installment is the best part. Model FK-35 is all you need to run a Mark VIII or Taurus fan. With the Taurus fan, you only use the high speed wire (yel/brn) and ground (blk) and leave the low speed disconnected.
I am not affiliated with the company. Just bearing good news.

i've got a taurus fan. i run it in front of the radiator with no problems. i just bought a thermostat so it turns on automatically and used two 30 amp fuse for powering it up. i also have a switch to turn off the fan for steams. never overheated with it yet!

Granted gpoing this route may be on the more expensive side, but it is all you need, as it comes with everything you need. This is also designed to ramp the speed of the fan up as the temp rises. It's not just on and off.

not to bag on you. i'm just giving you my expierince with this fan. the kit is cool and expensive. if i had the money i'd probably buy it.
but all you really need to run this is
2- 30amp bosch relays. wired in parrell
1- 30 amp heavy duty fuse
1- temp switch.
this will only cost you about $25 to wire it up. even on low there is enough flow to cool your truck on a hot day of wheeling!

sparky...
I agree with you too. There are definitely other routes that are cheaper. I posted this mainly for the ease.

the only other recommendation i would give is get a bigger alternator. this fan sucks the life out of a stock unit. i use a gm 105 amp alternator. with that alternator when the fan turns on you don't even notice. i think when it starts it draws 60 amps on high and 40 on low. :wow:
