If its for a DD id go with ARB because then the cops cant get mad at you for it chirping around corners. but if its for stricly off road i'd go wtih the with a detroit in the rear and still the arb in front for better turning radius on tight trails.

If you do not want to compromise anything...go toyota e-locker front and rear. The FJ 80 High pinion 3rd works awesome in the front, and you can just use a tacoma or 4runner e-locker in the rear. Some housing modifications are necessary but well worth the time and effort.

There are a ton of options out there you just have to figure out what you want and how much you have to spend. You can't go wrong with any of the above mentioned lockers.

i'd do a detroit front and rear or a spool in the rear and a detroit in the front. do detroits front and rear if it's a daily driver and a spool and a detroit if it's a trail truck. arb's are cool but they are mucho $$$.

one nice thing with the electric locker is you can do it without having to install the locker itself! if you get 410 gear ratio rear, it will match the landcruiser front because those are all 410 gears. For me the electric locker was the cheapest way to go!

Leorn,

What did you spend on the e locker 3rd members and where did you find them? I think I am going that route but I wil need to regear them.

Thanks

I spent $450 on the hp landcruiser front, the v6 rears are less and easier to find. I looked on car-parts.com You should research the housing modifications to make sure you want to do that before you buy. don't forget the wiring!

I was lucky and found both in slc. I think I bought the only ones in utah possibly.

I reccomend that you buy them with gear ratios that match your existing even though you are changing them. It will make it easier to wait! btw if you do both it will be 4.10 since that is the only ration available in the hp front, or you could buy two 4.56 rears if thats the gear ratio you want. That would save well over $500 in gears and setup! (the and front are interchangeable)

Last thing I assume you know that you can't use an e-locker on the ifs front, you need sas! Wasn't sure if you had done that yet!

when your talking to junk yards make sure that the locking mechanism comes with it. Many of them are sold seperate:cuss:
