Who's Runnin 1/4 Elliptic

Hey, i was the local truck pull last weekend and a buddy of mine showed up with his toy. He's got an 84 with 1/4 elliptic rear suspension. It really caught my eye when he back onto my friends truck which is on 35's and flexed up just perfectly. I was wondering what type of springs u run for this, it looked like maybe he took chevies and cut them in half?Then he put the shackles and bolted them onto the axle to the spring, it was a trip. I was just wondering how one would go about setting this up and who all here was running it?

i run the long side of a f250 leaf pack (31''), minus the bottom leaf and overload. i have a johnny joint on the shackle so the main leaf doesnt get wasted
