Check Engine Light

lately i have been talking my stock 92 4runner through some water and mud nothing serious not to deep more water than mud but the morning after hitting a few of the holes my check engine light came on i didnt know if it is something serious to worry about ........nothing else seems to be wrong runs great fluid levels fine guages read fine.............just wondering how could i fix or any possible problems..............its the 3.0 liter V6 ....thank you for any input on this

Did you check what engine codes you have? You put a paper clip in the grey connector pins E1 - T1 then go and turn your key to the on postion but don't start it the check engine light will flash a couple of times in a pattern.

after you do above--- under these cir************stances, i would perform a visual inspection and if all looks ok then disconnect the battery for a few to clear it and only worry if it comes back on.

ill try that i also tried that link and tried that but when it flashes it seems to be very random and i dont know which is which should i just take the one the first time it flashes and thats it or will it keep repeating because if so mine doesnt thanks again

it will blink a code then pause a few seconds and repeat or blink another code. There will be about 1.5 seconds in between multiple codes and about 3 seconds between the last code and the repeat of the first

alright well yesterday i disconnect the battery and light was off for day and a half then cam back on so now im gonna go check those codes again thanks for the help the lights seemed random before but that makes sense..................................about the tC my sister loves it she got it in flint mica its a gun metal looking color sparkles nice in the sun........its got ground effects, neons, spoiler, 17in alloys, its a sharp looking car she also got it in a 5 speed so its a lot of fun to drive its the first one like it on the east coast too.......and of course it has toyota quality

autozone or a parts store can hook a diagnostic up to ur vehicle and tell u all the codes that have hit the comp. system.

if u dont want to count the flashes that is. there book will say what codes have hit. u got water on the computer system probably or in the fuel system
