(I did a search but saw nothing that addressed my question)
I'm getting ready to buy a 7" skyjacker suspension lift. I'd also like to use ford shock towers (is P/N E5TZ-18183-A a good P/N for the towers?). So....my question is....when I order the shocks, can I stay with the ones that come with the kit....or do I need to order extended shocks....and if so how long should I get.
This is going on an '85 4Runner. Thanks for any help y'all can give me.

that looks like the right part number, i don't have it written down here.

there is some play in where you mount them so your best bet is to do the springs then check it out.

You will need to get longer shocks than will probably come with the kit, but you would be best off getting everything installed and measuring for them then

the 7inch skyjacker kit comes with shocks that mount in ur stock locations.

for shock towers can be bought at rocklogic.com

or at there shop localy.

they got them in stock ready to go usualy and if u use them ur gonna have to get longer shocks.

if i may make a small suggestion. buy the skyjacker springs, i would by the 5 inch lifted ones though becuz u can do a body lift of 2 inches and save the money and be less likey to roll and have the same about of clearance as well as u get good engine and tranny compartment clearance for working on the mechanics of the vehicle.

as for shocks like i said buy skyjacker springs, but buy the bilstein shocks instead of the skyjackers. and let me tell u y.

first bilstein has a better valving on them.
second they come in longer lengths for articulation.
and third they are like the same price but a better shock and u can buy the shock with 12 inches of travel for the front and use the for shock towers. if u buy the 14 inchers then ull need a hoop

u might even have to move to a 10 inch travel shock up front. in rear a 12 will work if u want to go to the stock location, maybe 10's will work.

or u could make a hoop in the rear under ur bed if u do a body lift and get 12's or 14's under there.

up to u man but trying to give u a different point of view so that u only have to do it once.

the 7 inch lifted springs my friend got and they dont flex that great, but they are not broke in all the way and i just like the 5's myself

good luck

and keep us posted
