Best bet on a 70' (OEM front drum brakes) is to convert to discs using the knuckles/birfs from a mini-truck/4runner... that way you can use any of the hi-steer arms I named... the 76'-78' FJ40/45/55 had a different knuckle (steering arm) pattern than the later 79+ Landcruiser and Mini

Yeah, I was planning on doing disc's but wanted to wait a few months or so do to the fact that my saginaw steering conversion is taking more money than I planned on. Oh well.

Thanks for the info man.

Did mine 3 times before I was satisfied. Luke at 4x4 labs has a killer product. I tried the Aqualu style double arm, not bad. Tried conventional crossover high-steer, better. Now run crossover high-steer with tie-rod behind the axle and am very happy. No more bent tie-rods. In fact once you get used to not worrying about TRs you start abusing your front axle housing. I can now push the front end up a boulder with my front wheels off the ground and other than loosing a bit of paint the only damage is to the rock. ;)
