I used a peace of 1/4 angle iron to give me something to weld to and a way to lower my bumper a little. Because of how the frame is I ended up with a small gap, about 3/16", my plan is to fill in the gap like in the pic, any thing wrong with that? If I cut the angle iron around the frame, to make it flush, i think it might take a way some strength I may need for when I get a winch, it would need to be cut right behind where the bumper meets the peace of AI. I also want to mount a D ring shackle right below where that big flat peace meets the frame, do you guys think I should brace it more? With like triangle peaces on the back side, or is 1/4 enough?
Thanks fo' yo' help.

An attempted to make myself more clear.
See the squares on the sides of the pic? that is where my bumper mounts to the frame. The guy who owned the bumper before me had a drop front drop hanger to mount it to, I do not. I used a peace on angle iron to simulate a drop hanger so I have something to weld the bottom half of the bumper onto.

Question 1. Is it ok to have that 3/16 gap in between the angle iron and frame if I fill in the gap with a 3/16 flat peace? will It be just as strong as if there was no gap?

2. When I get this welded I also want to have a D ring put on front, about 1" below that big flat peace in the middle, Remember I will be lowering the bumper some so it will end up being pretty much right in the middle of the AI. And my question on that is, Should I brace it from behind or will 1/4" be ok?

Sorry if I sound a bit retarded, This is the first thing I've had to "fab" myself, still learning
