i bought a strap for $3 at a flea market. it's 4" wide and like 60 plus feet long. one end has a loop and the other has been cut off. does anyone have any ideas for what i could do for this end? should i try to take it somewhere and have them sew it up like the loop on the on the other side is or what? I think this will make a badass recovery strap if I fix it up right.

Take it to a canvas/awning shop and see if they will sew it for you... I know of a place in SLC that does that type of stuff...

My dad is a truck driver, I've used this type strap my whole life. Tie a simple and clean bolin knot. After tied, slowly pull knot tight. As a rule of thumb, a knot lowers the total strength by 50% It is the cheapest way and it works. Good luck rctoys

Some climbing shops make their own runners and could sew that up for ya. It has been a while since I was out there but I think one of the shops in Truckee could do it.
