Save up a couple more $$$ and get the Warn... worth the extra cash when your truck is hanging off of a ledge with it, or your stuck out in the middle of no mans land.
Check out this Ramsey thread on RME...

Hydro is still pretty slow, but at least you get hi speed to wind the cable back in after use. If you don't mined the slow speed the electric are pretty good, but I’m not sure how they hold up in the long run, I've just used newer ones. I'm also in the market for a winch I think I’m just going to bit the bullet and pay a little more for a warn, I think I’ll be better off in the long run.

I dont really wanna bite the bulllet and do it, cash is hard to come by for me. I think i can put up with speed. Atleast ill get out! that is a major for me. I know i dont want a old pto or nething but does anyone know where i can pick up a winch for CHEAP!?

You can buy a winch made by Warn that is like $200.00 less than a Warn winch. You will pay way less and have a good winch. Bigdaddy runs one, and it works very good. Take a look at the Yotafari pics under upper helldo...he runs the cut up runner...XO cage...:Rockonman

Ok answer it this way...
When you all refer to the Milemarker being slow, are you referring to the loaded pull speed or the time it takes to wind all the cable back up?

My friend's dad has a milemarker and likes it ( hydro) but the motor has to run to work it. I have a Warn HS9500i and love it. I have had to clean rust out of it's gears a couple times and replace one solenoid ( found a generic one for $7) and the rope ( got a masterpull kevlar). I have seen a hydro fail to work on a hummer and have heard of ramsey units breaking in half or catching on fire. yikes!

both the line speed under load and reeling in are kinda slow on the milemarkers. but they are strong as hell.
