i would use a ifs ps box and get hysteer or at least crossover steering if it were me

but i think if they are the same style boxes ( the 85's) it will work. as long as there the same style and u got the hoses to run for the powersteering ur good.

ifs with ps and hydro assist is the bomb

Youll need another passenger side steering arm to do this. I used a extra arm and cut the flat part that bolts on the knuckle off. (sorry I cant remember the damned name of it!) Turn it upside down and weld it to the stock one. I welded a 1/2" plate between the arms to gusset it.

you can tell by looking at it. if the pitman swings front to back it will work but if it goes side to side then it won't.

Its easy to design a draglink for doing this "backwoods crossover" I used a spare tierod and cut the driverside teirod one off of it leaving the factory hole for the steering stabilizer. I then used a high speed tool with a carbide bit to taper the hole to fit on the pitman arm. I had to cut and sleeve the new draglink as it was around 8 inches too long If I remember right.

On another note the 2 wheel drive box will work, but it is supposed to be a lighter box that wont stand up to exterme wheeling. I say use it! I have one I was thinking about putting on the next project just to see what it can handle.

I gave you the wrong info on the draglink! Dont cut the tierod end. On a 2 wheel drive box the pitman arm is female, so you just shorten the tie rod and bolt it up. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused but for some reason I gave you my instructions for using a 4 wheel box.

You CAN'T use a 2WD steering box in place of a 4WD box.

1) A 2WD box from is totally different from a Solid Axle 4WD box.

2) A 2WD box is similar to a IFS 4WD box but smaller, and has 2 mounting bolts instead of 3.
