I have an 86 runner 22re with a optima blue
I also have a warn 9500lb winch
when I run the winch with any type of a load it stalls by runner
it is wired directly to the battery and grounded on the frame

Are you revving the engine when winching? that is the easiest solution to keep the truck running... The winch has to be grounded to the Battery!! read the instructions!
Sounds like either a tired battery or the battery connections ALL need a thorough cleaning. I'm not talking just sprinkling some beer on them and hosing it off.....wire brush inside and out.

Ok it could be bad connections at the battery clean them like Zuk said and there is another thing you can check if your battery is too old. Get a voltmeter and check the voltage at the battery. preferably after sitting for the night. It should have at least 12V if lower than that its pretty worn and should be replaced.
Now run the engine at idle, normally you should have over 14V, if lower than that your Alternator needs to be serviced
