i'm doing my first clutch and rear mian install this weekend on my 93 p/u 3.0 anyone have any useful tips for me. the rear main seem to be very simple. does anyone know if its possible to reach the top bolts on the bell housing without a long extention. looks like i can almost reach it but not sure if i can get the leverage.

me and my friend shayne did one on a 92' pick up a few months ago and we did'nt have any problems getting to the upper bell housing bolts, although he does have a 2" body lift on his rig. when we did my clutch (85' runner) there was no body lift so it was harder to get to but we got to it ok. one thing that i could recomend is renting a trany jack instead of just a floor jack. good luck

I have a '94 V6 5speed, did the clutch myself in the garage with a couple ratchet straps in lieu if a tranny jack; get the tranny jack, its worth it! The upper bellhousing bolts were somewhat of a PITA, I used a 3' extension to do them. I think it would be tough to do without some kind of pretty long extension. Getting the starter back in is kind of a pain too, and dont forget about the bolts on the engine side of the bellhousing, that took me a while to figure out the first time i did it...:curse:
