You will find that the higher that you can get it off the ground the better and easier it will be. One thing to remember is to replace the new clutch the right way not backwards. It should say on the clutch which side goes toward the fly wheel. That always helps.I can't really say anything about the rear main. I never had to replace them yet. I know that on other vehicles Its not that bad either. Oh yeah a tranny jack it a great help too.

Take your time and make sure everything is in the right way and compare your old parts to the new parts and make sure they are the same. You don't want to get all done and then have something not right and have to do it all over again. By a quality clutch set from the start too. For my Suzuki I got the cheapest clutch set I could find and I regretted it later. The parts looked right but they weren't quite right, to make a really long story short I got to pull the tranny out four times. On the plus side I can get a Suzuki transmission out really, really fast!
