I searched and didn't find much on this. I just replaced my clutch with a LUK Pro Gold clutch and am now working on replacing the throwout/release bearing in the bellhousing. It looks like the T/O bearing I got from dialaclutch is the wrong one, but searching showed that it was the right one I guess. It is a little thinner than the one in there and I'm not sure what to press out of the old one and into the new T/O bearing. The old one has a hub assembly or something in it. I'm just not sure what to remove and if it will fit into the new T/O bearing supplied. I'm assuming its the right part since they got everything else right, it looks like the one in a search I did and it looks like the one on Marlin's site for his clutch kit he sells. Just not sure where to start. It looks exactly like the one in this thread, but not much info in this thread on how to separate the hub and install in the new bearing.

Does anyone know if I have the right T/O bearing from experience of dealing with LUK clutches? How to I remove and install the hub assembly into the new release bearing?

I can send pics for someone to post if they would please as I have no red star.

This is for an 85 4Runner with the W56 5spd tranny. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just pressed out the hub off of the old throwout bearing. I already have the throwout bearing that came with the Luk Pro Gold package, but it was made in Japan so I'm guessing its a genuine Toy part.

So I pressed out the hub, but it doesn't look like it will fit in the T/O bearing supplied with the Luk clutch. The ID of the new bearing is smaller than the ID of the old bearing. But it looks like there is a tapered plastic sleeve or something on the hub, that if pulled off, would make it fit in the new bearing. Also, after pressing out the hub, there are some tab things on the old bearing that slip over this sleeve to hold the hub on the bearing. But on the new bearing, there are no tab thingies. So I'm not sure how the hub would stay in the new bearing? But my bearing looks exactly like the one posted in the thread by 83toy83k5.

83toy83k5, what did you end up doing? Any help please?

When you buy one from Toy, is it the T/O bearing with the hub assembly already pressed in? Or on a T?O bearing from Toy do you have to press in the hub assembly too? Does the one from Toy have the tab thingies I was referring to? Should I just ditch the one from Luk and get a Toyota bearing?

Please help, I need to get this tranny back into my 4Runner and I live out in the boonies, no where close to a Toy dealer on a Sunday.

when you buy one from the dealer , it is just the brg as your describing , and it is pressed onto the hub just like your doing . There are really only 2 brgs from /79 all the way to /95 for the 4 cyls .... the first brg is kind of a square edged brg and is thicker the the one you need , it fits from up to /80 ... the 22r brg has rounded edges and is a little thinner .

There is no "plastic thing" needed ... pull it off and press the brg on the hub ...MAKE SURE ITS ON THE RIGHT WAY . The clips just "pop" off and are re used . They hold the hub assy on to the fork .

hope that helps .
