I am in the middle of doing one right now. Swapping a clean '87 Xtra cab in place of my beat up '88. I decided to attempt it without removing the front clip. It's kind of a PITA to get to the stuff on the firewall behind the engine, but way easier than pulling the engine.

Really, it's not as bad as it looks.:D Once everything is unbolted and unplugged, drill out the spot welds between the firewall and front clip. Your using a '93 on an older frame, so your front clip will not match up, but I'm pretty sure that everything on the frame should work out with the newer one.

There's a truck for sale on Marlins website www.marlincrawler.com that's a later model xtra-cab on an early frame so, it's doable. Maybe give Marlin a call and ask him about it, he's a pretty nice guy:) ............Hans

Yeah, but you'll have to move the rear cab mounts or weld in some new ones, and you'll have to bob the bed.
I have an 84 2WD std cab and short bed on my 83 4WD std cab long bed frame, so just about anything can be done.
