Yes, its that time again folks, time to get our fat asses off the couch, load up the kids, the dog and the gear and go CAMPING! This is where I have a few questions...:Help:

1) Can I pull a lightweight travel trailer or popup tent trailer with out a lot of gas guzzling or strain on my 4banger?

2) Can I haul a camper with with a little effort?

Im just looking into this, I might get myself a little fixer-upper 10 or 12 foot trailer or 8 foot camper if you guys give me the go-ahead that it wont put too much strain on my rig. Otherwise its a tent for me! Look out wilderness, here I come!:bye:

The best advice I can give you is take the weight of the camper and check your Toyota dealer with your VIN# for towing capacity. They will tell you exactly what is recomended.Or you can check your manual....

I know for a fact that a stock 4runner has the ability to tow another 82 toy p/u for 500 kms. running at 100 kms/hr (55mph I think?) in 5th gear!!

As long as your tire/gear combo is correct it shouldn't be a problem, just don't exceed the recommended towing weight.........Hans

I say go for it. I towed my buddies Landcrusier from Moab to slc with no problems. Slow going but It worked. Only doubled the travel time (8hrs)
