The 83 has a 22R, and we heard that u can have one lil torqy motor if u went the like 20 r head wit a 22r lower or flip flop im not sure which one but please help

That's what I heard too(20R head on a 22R block), but I have never seen one.... That's all I know...

Yes, You can install a 20R head on a "stroker" 22R block. That is a 22R motor from 1981-1984. The "pre" 1985s get the added CCs from stroke. By installing the 20R head you gain compression. Know that you need the intake stuff of a 20R! Intake , carb. ect. Back in the day this mod. was mostly done by people who had old school 20Rs & would install the 22R block. You are going the other way so know you may need a few things. We added a cam & with the lack of clearance the intake valves would hit the pistions so don't add a cam. Any way hope this helps.
