i am putting a 305 in my 82 toy very soon. summit racing has motor mount that will work with your factory mounts for like 80 bucks, their number is 1-800-230-3030. thats the cheapest place i found them. you will most likely need a chevy tranny also since our trannies have the full bell housing and not the un-boltable one. find your ignition wire from your key to your distributor and that will be the one you hook up to your new chevy distributor, everything else like alternater should be commen sence. i would do a 350 in mine but i am getting the engine for free as well as the tranny and t-case.

If the 305 is free thats one thing, but if your going to build a 305 its not worth it. A 350 is 100 times better. the 305 was built to pass smog. Go 350, the blocks are the same exact size and you actually get torqe and horsepower, Two things the 305 doesnt have
