im gonna be puting new gears in my truck here soon, i have an 88 yota pickup, 3.0L and running the stock 4.10's with 35's.....i was thinkiing of jumping up to 5.29 gears or should i go with 4.88? ive heard 4.88 dont make that big a difference tho.....what is your imput?

the v-6 seams to have more highway power,if its your daily driver the 4:88 will be good.then when it becomes a hardcore rig they will also be stronger...

My friend did an SAS on his V6 Toy and has 4.10, I rode shot gun with him and He has lots of power! In my opinion 4.88 or stay 4.10! But 4.88 is not much of a big difference and you might be disappointed.

would it even out a bit if i put 37's on if i got the 5.29?.....it would be a good exuse to get bigger tires :Rockonman....i dont do much crawlin around...i like the mud....would 529 be too low with 35's?

I run 5.29s with 35s in my 85' and its just about perfect. 5.29s with 35s is very close to the stock tire/gear combo. ;) In my opinion, I believe it's more of an issue with a manual trans than with an auto, though.........Hans

5.29s and 37s are tits 70 mph at 3000 rpm :D in 5th all day long

Go with the 529's they work well with the 35's...:)
