Please don't yell!!! I can give you a tip on the snokel though. run your snorkel, then instead of blocking your original air inlet put a piece of 2" ABS pipe with a threaded plug at the end. Leave it off on the road and when you are about to cross water just put the plug in. This way you'll have 2 air inlets on the road and youll feel the the engine breathe better!

Good Idea Rescue!
As far as the Mill goes... The cam's avalable range from mild to wild and if it's a DD I'd goe somewhere inbetween! What are you running for tires??? Gears??? Gear reduction(axles/tcase(s))??? Lot of this can help or hurt you..... If you are going all the way on a rebuild, check the head/block. If you are a DD and in the mountains I'd probably go with OS valves on a head rebuild, sence you have a header... But you'll need it to breath some more, so a Board out TB would help, as well as a port/polish job... Ummm new injectors(or cleaned/rebuilt) wont hurt at all... Basics are as follows, kinda tune-up stuff; Fuel filter, PCValve, Ignition system, Cold air system, Electric Fan, etc.... There are ALL kinds of "Neat-O's" you can add. and if added correctly, Will help you in the quest for a "powerfull" 22re!
Right now I'm about 4 steps ahead of you with all my rebuild crap less then 5' away, waithing for me to get the time off to rip the junk out(A month now)! But I'm starting this friday!

I'd keep the engine stock. When you start modifying an engine, thats when you start to have problems. Maybe not at first but in the long run... Get a K&N air filter and do like the rest of us, Live with it, squirrel power! Hey you won't go faster than a civic but you sure can crawl over it!:Rockonman
As for the gears....start searching
