i asked this on PBB, but didn't get to much info. someone built one but won't tell me how they got the patten for the ring that goes together with the transfer case.
anyway, i was thinking i could just use the gasket as a template to make the ring. i want to use a different bushing style to hook it to the frame. and then i will built my own skid plate.
anyone know what kind (size and pitch) bolts are used in the 4 banger transfer case? i'll probably use 1/4" plate to make the ring. and a good place to buy the metric bolts?
thanks

The bolts are 10mm x 1.25mm. Using the gasket would be the best way to get the pattern correct. Or use a piece of cardboard or thick paper. Let us know how it turns out.

thanks for the bolt sizes.
i'll use the gasket to get the bolt holes and go from there.

I think you could just use the old bolts, they all thread into the case with more than an inch of threads & if the plate's only 1/4" I'd think it'd be ok:Thumbsup:

i was going to make one too. use the bushings from rocklogic and then make it hieght adjustable by bolts on either side of the case. three pieces- a center bolted to the case and a piece on each side w/ the bushings.

Fab away hope every thing lines up just perfect. By The way I did fab one of my own which looked very much like a budbuilt (Before there even was a budbuilt) I spend about $50.00 and who knows how much time, with clearance issues and such. And I had acsess to a massive press-brake, I finally got it to where I was pretty happy. And guess what??? Yeah I saw the Front Range Off Road design. It is well worth the 300.00 I spent. And guesss what thats not the end of the story yet MR.FAB. Yeah at Yotafari '02' I won a bud built X-member, I sold it for 200.00, the design is nothing close to FROR's piece. And I'll gaurantee even if you have the proper tools and equip. BY THE TIME you get it all dialed in you would have been better off to spend the $$$$$$$$$ and buy it. That's my $2.00 worth MR FAB GUY. Blaze:eek: :Freak: :Freak:

I thought he was asking what the thread and pitch is for the transfer case mounting bolts, for the rear mount that bolts to the transfer case, yes the socket used will be 14mm, the bolts that the mount uses to mount to the stock crossmember are 8mm x 1.25mm and use a 12mm socket. Is this what you wanted?
