Hey guys I'm new to the board, I drive an '81 Trekker. I'm trying to think of ways to gain some more flex out of the rear. I was considering the chevy spring swap, but the rear end is a whole lot lighter than most pickups because its all fiberglass. Just wondering if I'd get the same ride and flex results from the Chevy springs as a normal pickup would. Thanks

Its the same as a shortbed 81, right? or is the whole bed fiberglass? There shouldn't be any issues. Id think it would actually be heavier because of the fiberglass shell on the back. You "Flex Appeal" shoud be fine with the Chevy swap. You will be plenty flexy. Get some pics up of that Trekker!

Actually the bed and topper are both fiberglass. From where the bed on a normal pu starts its all fiberglass and the topper doesn't weigh much at all, I was able to pick it up by myself when I took it off last summer. So I'm pretty sure that the trekker bed (with topper) is lighter than a normal pick up. Plus from about May to the middle of September the topper is off which would decreas the weight even more.

You could always remove a leaf from the Chevy pack if it's too stiff.
