Shakles

What are the best shakles for the price, strength, added height, and flex?

Well, I made mine from 2x3/8" bar stock. I think about $10 for a 10 foot length. Cut 'em as long as you want. I didn't weld the 2 sides together with a piece in the middle, but you could if you wanted more strength. I used 3/4" bolts, but if your springs have the sleeves inside the bushings you could do 9/16". Bought the bolts at the liquidator for $0.50/lb.

I think most shackles flex about the same, unless you do a johhny joint or some type of extend-o-shackle.

I also built mine out of 3/8"x 2" bar stock and formed the offset on the front ones like the stockers (I'm a sheetmetal mechanic and have access to the neccessary equipment). I braced the centers with a tubing spacer and a 19mm bolt that you can loosen up offroad for more flex and tighten up for highway stability;)
