The boss decided to cancel work a couple of weeks back due to the weather. So I cruised by my mom's house to pick up the camera I left there on Xmas and she took this picture. It was definitely odd sharing the highway w/ snowmachines and atvs.
Here's my pretty much stock '77 FJ40.

Hi all.
I just got back from Kentucky, I picked up the FZJ80, I amd sad to say I was missinformed on the status of the lockers ...The guy didnt know what he had, It only has the center diff lock:confused:
Needless to say I was pissed, I voiced my thoughts to him, However I was in Louisville KY without a way out, I asked him 3 times if it had lockers! Eh...What can I say, he now drives a BMW(no offence Jonny) x3/5?!? who cares?
I do love the new ride, My dad and I drove from Louisville at 10:30am Sat. and 1700 Miles later we were home in Salt Lake at 10:45am Sun. :Freak: I didnt go more than 4 miles over the speed limit!
Its been great so far, I tried to get it registered but it didnt pass, The co. has a max of 1.20 PPM Mine ran at 1.21 PPM, The guy said run it for a day or so to get the CPU use to the elevation, Go figure:rolleyes:
Ant how, I sincerly apologize for the miss information:no no:
I hope we can all still be Toyota buddies:yes:

I picked up an ARB Bull Bar for the FJ45, and liked to come across some fender rails and steps like the blue 40 on your homepage. That and some black 16" rockcrawlers and I'd be a happy camper. Until then, I'll spend my free time working on the power steering conversion.

and here's a side pic. She still needs some work, but time and money will tell. It's only got 150,000 miles on it, 20,000 I have put on it since i bought it last year. It's nothin special. I've installed a K&N air filter, Headers, 4" Skyjacker lift, and 33's. I did the diamond plating on the rear, and stripped the paint on the floor of it and layed down a carpet liner in the rear to cut down on noise and warm it up a little bit for the winter.

The front bumper is bent up a bit...not terrible. But I'm thinking I wanna put a brush guard on the front anyway...so...I might remove the bumper anyway.
Gonna start with a few minor upgrades...needs a hitch & bike rack...and needs a roof rack...and probably the Brushguard.

351 Windsor bored .030, TRW forged flat top pistons, internals from Summit Racing. Saginaw power steering setup. Was in a roll-over sccident. The driver was drunk and turned a 35 mph curve doing 80 mph. Rolled it 3 times in a lettuce field. Sat for 2 years.

After adding up the cost and time of everything I wanted to do to my 96, I just happened to find this 97 with everything I wanted (except some minor things) for a great price in great condition.
It has OME J springs, L shocks, 1" front spring spacers, castor bushings, Goodyear wrangler MTR 37s on 17 in wheels (fasctory wheels were also included) ARB bull bar winch ready and hella lights, arb step bars (will be customized into rock sliders), e lockers leather in great shape, LC floormats, spector seat covers, DVD navigation stereo, new Mitsubishi pearl white paint
I plan to add lower gears, a winch, another inch lift in the front, braided extended brake lines, CDL switch, roof rack, more lights, upgrade speakers, rear swing out tire bumper. Looking into high steer/ram assist, castor plates, aux fuel tank, BFG ATs on factory wheels for daily life/ save GYs for the trail.

Thanks for the compliments!
I wasn't too keen on the gold at first, or the chrome wheels either, but it has grown on me. If given the chance though I still might get the flares and rear bumper sprayed to silver or charcoal or something.
