I used to go through 2 clutches a year on 89 V6 runner(no crawler). It even caused me to leave the first Yotafari two days early. Then I discovered that I could install a heavier duty clutch for around 180.

The answer was the 92-93 3VZE powered 4x4 T-100. Since the truck is heavier Toyota used a 9 7/8 clutch instead of 9 1/4. The clutch is a direct bolt-on to the 3.0 as long as you have the flywheel from the T-100. You can buy these Reman for $50.00, with a $90.00 core. Not sure on the cost of a new one. Just make sure you order it for the 4x4, the 2wd is identical to the clutch you already have.

Its been 2 years and many wheelin trips since the install and its still going strong. I can work this clutch to death and it still holds up.. Overall I am very satisfied with it. and recommend it to anyone looking for a better clutch for the V6 Trucks/Runners.

Hey Sublyme89.... I have a few questions about your post.

I know that it has been a while since you posted this, but have you had any problems since?

I have an 89 pickup with the 3.0. The T100 clutch will probably fit in this also, right??

By changing the flywheel, did you have any engine vibration problems? A friend of mine stated that some engines match the harmonic balancer and the flywheel but wasn't sure about Toyota.

Thanks.

No vibrations. toyota does not use hormonic balancers. Its called a crank pulley.
The swap works great , no problems so far and over over 10k since. If there was to be issues I would have seen them allready. Yes it will swap into your truck. It will work in any 3.0 toyota truck. Actually since my post we did the same swap on my bro's 90 runner. he loves it.

The best part of doing this swap is the increased off road performance. My old clutch would only last six months, this one has been in for two years and many trips and still does not slip at all.

Good luck
Scott

One last question... I think... what brand of clutch did you use. I am thinking about the LUK.
