my 1990 truck instrument cluster does not have a tach. i was at the junk yard a couple days ago and came across a 4runner, not sure what year it was but it has the same dash and it had the gauge cluster with a tach. The gas gauges are different but i dont know if the connections are different. is this possible to do or more trouble than its worth?

You could buy one and put it in the dash . It might be easyer . I'm getting one and doing it that way .

The guage cluster should plug in with all factory wiring, but you will have to change your oil sending switch from a light to a guage.

AARON,
FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN AND KNOW I WOULDN'T BOTHER. THE 4 RUNNER WAS PROBABLY AN SR5 I KNOW THE ONLY PICKUPS WITH GAUGES WERE THE SR5S THE REGULAR BASE HILUX DID NOT JUS HAS IDIOT LIGHTS. i HAVE A COMPLETE 85 SR5 DONOR TRK FOR MY 85 BASE HILUX AND I THOUGHT I WOULD DO THE SAME AND ALL THE DASH HARNESS WOULD HAVE HAD TO BE CHANGED SO I JUST BOUGHT AN AFTER MARKET TACH IT WAS WAY EASIER.

Actually, the SR5 cluster should just plug in all you should have to change is the oil pressure sender:eek:

I don't have the tach, and I was thinking about buying that tripple gauge cluster with tach, oil pressure, and battery gauge. How difficult would it be to set that up?
