i know this is a question that gets asked a lot but i was wonderin how much lift i'd get out of the 63in rears. when the time comes to put them on, is it just the spring hangers that have to be moved forward? or am i gonna have to fool with where to mount the shackles as well.
also, what will longer springs up front do for me?

Rear.....
You make a new mount for the front of the spring and either a new mount for the shackle or do the double shackle OR a LONG single shackle. I tried the double and I thought it "unloaded" too fast and made it easier to flop, I also tried the single shackle and it had to be too long to work (14").... As for how much lift they give is anyones guess, it depends how far down your new spring hanger mount ,how long of a shackle you use and how thrashed/abused the chevy springs are.
Front... longer springs will flex better and alow you to move the front axle forward for better tire clearnce at the firewall.

Go to pirate4x4.com and then go to the toy tech sec. There is a big write up about it there . But here is a short bit about it . You must move the front mount forward 11 inches and if you keep the rear shackle mounts stock you will need a 9 or 10 inch shackle . You can buy new spring mounts or make them . I bought mine for $20 each on sale . The lift is only 3 inches if you move the shackle mount back 4 inches and use a 2 inch drop shackle . DO NOT USE 63'S IN FRONT . If you do you will not like it when you get stuck on every good size rock or bump . Your angle will be way off .

you get about 2" of lift out of them, this has been beaten to death over and over and over and....;)

Right, and most of that is from moving the front hanger to a lower point on the frame.
The rest is gained from blocks and/or longer shackles.

how much will stock rears in the front give me?

Most people find that just the stock rear leafs are too soft and end up mixing in other leafs, from whatever they have handy. Also some people use a 1 or 2" drop hanger. Therefore it's really hard to say how much lift you get untill you're done.

i have a 91 w/ my stock rears in the front (w/ a couple of leaves switched) and about a 2" drop front hanger and shackles mounted to the bottom of the frame and a 4" shackle and i have ALOT of lift. w/ a 3" body lift and 38" tires measuring 36" tall my bed rail is about 5 feet high. the truck is about 7 feet overall. i could clear 44" tires no-prob. i would think lifted rears in the front would be plenty tall even w/ stock spring mounts. my springs do sit almost flat though, my excess lift is mainly from mounts and the body lift.

huh?
3/4 elip is a buggy leaf added to a conventional leaf setup and has little, if anything, to do with the amount of lift.
1/4 elip is half a leafspring pack mounted upside down which mounts in an entirely different fasion and creates an entirely different spring rate(half of the spring) and amount of lift...

i run the 3 leaf chevies with the overload cut down to a little stub. mines pretty low too, there a bit of fender trimmin to make room. they go a little negative before hitting the bumpstop as the tire hits the inner fender well where the stock roll bar mount sits out

Whats your shackle angle? can you measure the distance the lower eye hole is behind the front eye hole while at rest. get what I mean?? drop something straight down from upper hole and then measure distance back to lower eye hole. thanks
